Who is Fireflow and what type of yoga do you teach ?

 Since 2007 Fireflow Yoga has  served over 8,000 students.  For nine years we ran a studio at Yonge and Eglinton before relocating to a smaller, downtown space near Christie Pitts.   

All classes are inspired by the Ashtanga Vinyasa sequence taught in a self-practice manner with lots of personalized adjustments.  Based upon the work of Mark Darby and Matthew Sweeney we aim to connect all poses to core centred movement.  We thank our many teachers Danny Paradise, Ron Reid, David Robson, BKS Iyengar, Emil Wendell, Chuck Miller, Maty Ezraty, and Shinzen Young.

A great way to start your yoga practice or take your practice to the next level.

Expect to use blocks, blankets, bolsters and terra bands.  Expect to flow.  Expect to be challenged.  Expect to find deep relaxation.  Have fun. Smile.  Nourish. Challenge your body.  Relax your mind.  Meditate.  

Many people who attend our classes note how they never realized yoga could yoga could work be so relaxing, challenging, and all encompassing.   If your doctor has advised that yoga could be good for you best way to practice involves personalized attention to detail and form.  

Most sessions are taught by Jonathan Perlman.  He founded Fireflow in 2007 and began teaching in 2008.  He never imagined one day he would be teaching yoga.  He has no innate flexibility.  After experiencing body pain following a hockey game he began looking for ways to shape his body.  Over many years, many trips to India, and lots of practice he slowly worked his way through many types of yoga.  He opened a studio as an entrepreneurial endeavour and later began teaching.  All classes are inspired by his many years practicing daily Mysore style practice which shaped the way he practices and teaches.

How do I get started ?

Gather a group of 2 to 6 people and set up a time.  You can start with two initial sessions.  Afterwards sessions are booked in 6 week periods.  Track your progress. 

Classes run 1 hour.

What does it cost ?

Costs per hour based upon a six week session;

2 People: $90 ($45/each)

3 people $100 ($35/each)

4 people $100 ($25/each)

5 or 6 people ($23/each)

Price are based upon 6 week sessions.  HST is added to all prices.  The person who gathers a group together for a 6 week session receives a $50/credit.
