Jonathan

Jonathan

Jonathan opened Fireflow Yoga eight years ago. He was not a teacher. He attended a few Ashtanga based yoga classes at a downtown studio. He visited India three times. He had a steady, secure job but felt he needed a change. On Craigslist he found a second floor space at Yonge and Eglinton and opened Fireflow. Then he took his teacher training. At Fireflow he brought in his favourite teachers to teach and took every class. For six months David Robson led Mysore at the studio and he went every day. He started with no inherent flexibility or body awareness but soon found himself in the best shape of his life. He began to teach. Jonathan believes in the power of yoga to still the mind and shape the body. He strongly believe in the importance of alignment. His class involes Ashtanga based flow, a focus on alignment and strength, and lots of breathing. He has studied with many of the world’s top teachers and brought some of them to Fireflow. This past year his completed his first 7 day silent meditation retreat with Shinzen Young and maintains a daily meditation and yoga practice.
